Galatasaray manager, Okan Buruk, has revealed he told his players to target Manchester United midfielder Casemiro during both teams’ UEFA Champions League tie on Tuesday night.
Buruk watched as Galatasaray defeated Man United 3-2 in the Champions League encounter at Old Trafford.
Speaking during his post-match interview, Buruk said: “We wanted to put pressure on Casemiro in the midfield with (Lucas) Torreira.
"Kaan (Ayhan) is a player who plays well defensively and without the ball. We wanted to use both together.
“I think Kaan performed a very important task. He gave support.”
The result against Galatasaray leaves Man United in bottom place in Group A with no point from two matches, having lost against Bayern Munich last month.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, are in second position with four points from the same number of games.
The Turkish giants are behind leaders Bayern Munich on the log.
