Former Super Eagles forward, Joseph Akpala has been appointed interim manager at Belgian club, KV Kortrijk.
Kortrijk is yet to appoint a new manager following the departure of Bernd Storck.
Akpala took charge on the first day of pre-season training on Monday.
The 36-year-old is well-acquainted with the Belgian League having enjoyed spells at Club Brugge, Sporting Charleroi and KV Oostende.
His wealth of experience appears to be a plus for him on the job pending the appointment of a substantive manager.
Akpala scored 90 goals in 286 appearances during his playing spell in Belgium.
He quit football in 2021 after a brief spell with the Romanian second division club, Dinamo Bucharest.
