Chelsea reportedly offered two players in an exchange deal to sign AC Milan forward, Rafael Leao, last summer.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea attempted to lure Leao away from the Rossoneri with an ambitious proposition by offering Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech.
At the time, the Premier League giants were in the midst of their first transfer window under the Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali-led ownership, with the group subsequently spending more than £600 million on several players across the summer and winter windows.
They presented several options to try and force through a move for Leao, but a deal did not materialize.
However, it is yet to be seen if Chelsea will return for the 23-year-old.
Leao has been brilliant for AC Milan since joining the club in 2019.
The Portugal international has scored 40 goals and registered 34 assists in 159 games for the Serie giants.
Leao’s contract with AC Milan will expire in the summer of 2024.
