Players and fans of Argentina were on the streets on Tuesday to celebrate the World Cup victory and parade their trophy.
However, the event was cut short due to safety concerns after some fans missed the target while attempting to jump into the open bus carrying the players.
Over four million people were on the streets of Buenos Aires for the celebration.
But the bus was forced to make an emergency detour after two fans were left in a critical condition when they tried to board the vehicle by jumping off the bridge.
While the first man was successful and made it onto the bus, the second man jumped too late, hit the back of the bus and fell to the road.
Security officials then took the decision to call an early halt to the parade. Players returned to the team’s training facility on the outskirts of Buenos Aires by helicopter.
Alberto Crescenti, head of the emergency medical services in Buenos Aires, confirmed there have been eight injuries on Tuesday.
