American actor Dwayne Johnson popularly known as ‘The Rock’, has said he would no longer use real guns on the set of any of his movies.
The former wrestler turned actor made this known in Los Angeles while promoting the world premiere of his upcoming Netflix movie ‘Red Notice’ alongside Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot.
He said to Variety that the films made by his company, Seven Buck Productions, would “not use real guns ever again.” This development is coming after the accidental prop gun shooting, which killed Halyna Hutchins on the movie ‘Rust’ set.
He said his production team are going to switch over to rubber guns and are going to take care of it in post-production. “We are not going to worry about the dollars; we won’t worry about what it costs,” he said.
He empathized with the family of the bereaved and stated how heartbroken he was at the incident.
Two weeks ago, the news broke out that Alec Baldwin accidentally shot the cinematographer and director on a movie set after being told the gun was a ‘cold gun’.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the scenario that led to the accidental discharge.
