365Sports: Chelsea Beats Weymouth 13-0 In Behind Closed Doors Friendly On Sunday

Chelsea beat semi-professional side Weymouth 13-0 in a behind closed doors friendly match at Cobham training centre on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel confirmed on Saturday that the friendly was arranged to help the players that had not been involved much in the pre-season games regain their match fitness.

“This [the friendly match] is very different to training,” the German explained to Chelsea TV.

“For some, like Marcos Alonso, it will be a normal week to prepare for the match on Sunday, while for others, it will be very intense.”

Since it is not officially part of the pre-season, Chelsea did not announce any team news ahead of the game.

Fortunately, Weymouth’s social media team provided us with some updates on the game.

They confirmed that Chelsea’s line-up were full of internationals. Thiago Silva, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Ross Barkley were also seen in the photos shared by Weymouth’s Twitter account.

Chelsea were up by eight goals at half-time before adding five more in the second half and secured a comfortable 13-0 win.
